Be Free YC is a children’s charity supporting young carers aged 8 to 24 living in southern Oxfordshire, England.
Young carers are children who provide regular or on-going care and emotional support to a family member who is physically or mentally ill, disabled or who misuses substances.
Be Free YC provides practical, educational, emotional and social support that helps young carers cope with the challenges and demands caring has on their lives.
“Music and the arts in general, can be extremely therapeutic when people are feeling stressed and anxious and we often hear from young carers that they use music as an escape when things become difficult to cope with at home".
“Not only was recording this album a wonderful, maybe once in a lifetime experience for these children but it also gave the young carers a voice, something that seldom happens".
